Welcome back to the city! In our first official update, we are adding four custom builds that bring a new level of realism and technical detail to the layout. From complex track geometry to advanced SNOT techniques in a custom electrical substation, there is a lot to cover.
🚧 What’s in this update?
Custom Train Layout: I walk you through a timelapse of the new track placement and explain the logic behind the layout and how I secured the rails for smooth operation.
The "Small Shop" Build: A look at a new single-level structure that will eventually become the city’s latest apartment store.
The Triangular Palm Tree: LEGO is built on a square grid, but I challenged that by using hinge pieces to create a sturdy, triangular base for a custom palm tree—it’s so solid you can even hold it upside down!
Detailed Electrical Substation: This is the highlight of the MOC ⚡⚡⚡. We dive deep into the engineering of a V/T, a dielectric fluid-based circuit breaker, and a transformer. I’ll show you how I used illegal building techniques, Star Wars ratchet elements, and SNOT (Studs Not On Top) to create realistic angled bushings.
The Grand Finale: Stick around until the end for a massive LEGO unboxing! My sister and her boyfriend James donated a huge collection to the channel, and I’m finally opening the Pick-A-Brick (PAB) box I received for Christmas.
