Dr. Star talks about children as a subgroup within pharmacovigilance. The aim with this session is to make you aware of the specific issues for paediatrics and pharmacological treatment.
Dr. Kristina Star works in the UMC Research Department. She defended her PhD thesis in safety of medication in paediatrics at the Department of Public Health and Caring Sciences at Uppsala University, Sweden.
With a basic training in nursing (1987), she has a special interest in adverse effects arising from medication errors. Prior to being employed at the UMC in 2003, she worked with product information at the Swedish Medical Products Agency (2002) and held a position as a Senior Safety Specialist in clinical studies within the pharmaceutical industry (1995-2002). She has also worked as a registered nurse in Swedish and American hospitals (1987-1995).
