Why De Lima wants Philippines to rejoin ICC | ABS-CBN News

Описание: In her privilege speech on Monday (Feb. 23), ML Party-list Rep. Leila de Lima laid out the facts surrounding the case of former president Rodrigo Duterte, drawing a clear line between impunity and accountability.

The former president is currently detained in The Hague, Netherlands, over alleged crimes against humanity, with his confirmation of charges hearing set to run from today until Friday, February 27.

During the interpellation, De Lima also urged the government to pursue the Philippines’ reentry into the International Criminal Court and sign anew the Rome Statute.
