Описание: This final lecture offers a comprehensive reflection on the entire course, bringing together the central ideas of Wilfred Bion’s psychoanalytic thinking and the clinical art of staying in contact with the unknown.

Throughout the course, we explored Bion’s conceptual language as a way of keeping truth, emergence, and creativity alive in psychotherapy. Beginning with the link between truth and the unknown, we examined the therapist’s stance of working without memory or desire, the distinction between K and O, and the movement toward transformations in O—where genuine psychic change takes place.

We moved through foundational concepts such as tolerance of frustration, beta elements, alpha function, containment, projective identification, and nameless dread, and explored how failures of containment shape experiences of meaning, communication, violence, and psychic disintegration. From there, we deepened the discussion through the models of container/contained, sanctuary, dreaming, reverie, and the experience of being dreamed into existence.

Later in the course, we entered more abstract and experiential territories: Michael Eigen’s concept of impact, the capacity to be touched by the other at a somatic and unconscious level; Bion’s ideas of caesura and the no-thing; and the challenge of sustaining tension without collapsing into premature certainty. Across these themes, the course emphasized psychotherapy not as a problem-solving enterprise, but as a living, developmental process that unfolds through faith, patience, and openness to emergence.

This closing lecture reflects on the pressures therapists face—both internal and external—to provide answers, plans, and results, and invites a return to a deeper level of awareness from which authentic transformation can arise. In Bion’s language, it is an invitation toward at-one-ment with O.
