Today I troubleshoot an idle issue on a 1971 VW Super Beetle. I read an article on thesamba.com which discussed turning the idle jet out (left) 1/8- 1/2 turn to smooth out idle and then setting the jet with threadlock.
The theory is, the inside of the idle jet seat has been damaged from over tightening the jet. The process works, however, the idle operation is inconsistent. I drove the car the next day and idle problem returned. I will try a different jet in another video to see if I can correct the issue. Kenny
