Hi, guys. Tom Aldridge here from Suburban Pest Management. We've been getting a lot of questions lately about Termidor, so I wanted to quickly explain how the product works and answer some of the more frequently asked questions. So to start with, I wanted to go over the way Termidor works. You see, it's wildly considered the best product on the market thanks to its non-repellency features. This essentially means termites are not aware the treatment is in place until they've already tried to pass through the system in which time it's too late, and the termites will have been affected. Now there are other non-repellent products out there, but none have been proven to be as effective as Termidor, which has stood the test of time for more than 15 years. Ultimately, whether Termidor is right for your property depends on a number of factors including the design of the building, where the termites have been located already, and whatever you, as the client, would be most comfortable with. Another big question I get is what a Termidor treatment will cost. This does vary depending on the size of the building, the depth of the footing, and whatever else might be involved in the treatment. At the end of the day, the biggest cost variance amongst companies is usually them not offering the same level of service and not offering a company guarantee. It's the age-old saying, "You get what you pay for." Another common question I get is if purchasing Termidor and treating termites yourself is possible. Believe it or not, when it comes to cockroaches, spiders, or rodents, I'm happy to endorse DIY if you're that way inclined. When it comes to termites, there is simply too much that can go wrong. And the damage they cause is simply not worth the risk. The last question I wanted to answer is, of course, around the safety of Termidor. This is a really important question to ask, and the reality is we are still using a scheduled product. So following the correct safety procedures is essential. Having said that, it is perfectly safe for plants or trees. And the main risk is really just when applying the product, which means it's recommended to keep yourself and any pets away during the application.
