Iconic Italian actor Franco Nero, famous for his role in Sergio Corbucci’s 1966 Spaghetti Western Django, will be honored at the 11th Filming Italy — Los Angeles festival from February 10 to 14, 2026.
Nero, who has appeared in over 200 films and TV shows, will also receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on February 12, 2026, in the Motion Pictures category.
This marks the third Italian artist to receive a Hollywood Walk of Fame star after Gina Lollobrigida and Giancarlo Giannini.
Nero's career includes collaborations with directors like John Huston, Luis Buñuel, Claude Chabrol, Rainer Werner Fassbinder, and Quentin Tarantino, featuring in films such as Django Unchained, Die Hard 2, Letters to Juliet, and John Wick: Chapter 2.
He is married to Vanessa Redgrave, and his latest role was in Julian Schnabel’s Hand of Dante.
The Filming Italy fest will feature a retrospective with Italian cinema premieres, restored classics, TV series, shorts, and documentaries.
