1. Creep in: When American professional snowboarder Maddy Schaffrick showed great potential as a teenager, she started to deal with great expectations and also high levels of pressure. Doubt started to creep and never left.
2. Head-on: After stepping away from professional snowboarding for a few years, Schaffrick found herself on the coaching team with young athletes. This time, instead of pushing away negative thoughts, she met them head-on.
3. Cement: At 31 years old, Schaffrick aced two qualifying rounds and two competitions with solid performances to cement her spot in the Milan-Cortina Games with a second-place finish.
