The U.S. Navy’s Virginia-Class submarines are an important thing to the US Navy, and recent developments in 2025 indicate a significant upgrade phase, particularly with the introduction of the Virginia Payload Module (VPM) in Block V variants.
The Virginia-Class, also known as the SSN-774 class, consists of nuclear-powered fast-attack submarines designed to replace the older Los Angeles-class submarines. They are built in blocks, each with incremental improvements. As of April 13, 2025, the class includes Blocks I through V, with Block VI and VII planned for future procurement.
