Iranian security forces have killed at least 45 protesters, including eight minors, during a crackdown on nationwide demonstrations driven by economic anger, according to the Norway-based group Iran Human Rights. The group said Wednesday was the deadliest day of the protests, while Iranian authorities report a lower death toll and say security personnel were also killed.
