I hope this template for effective practice helps identify problems as well as their solutions with more clarity.
Step 1: Goal-setting - set a specific goal for your practice session with specific strategies for how to reach your goal.
Step 2: Self-monitoring - monitor how well your chosen practice strategies are working to get you to your goal.
Step 3: Self-reflection - reflect on how well your strategies worked. If you reached your goal, how did you reach it? If you didn't, why not? Again, be as specific as you can.
