some really cool action - a mother deer defending its fawn from a bobcat attack!
the bobcat had been hiding behind a tree in the distance watching the pair for two minutes and then made a grab at the fawn when it got close. the mom chased the bobcat up a tree and then the pair beat a hasty retreat.
as it happens, from photo/video timestamps i saw that this mother and fawn walked past our back door a mere 7 minutes later. my daughter startled them, allowing us to then have a quick peek at this fawn lying in our field - a photo we shared on saturday.
little did we know the poor thing had just been through a big ordeal!
