Our summer Tuscany road trip - featuring our cats - was one of the highlights of the year for us.
Come along our 4 days in Tuscany and discover an alternative itinerary to the usual ones. We ditched Florence for a secluded Airbnb in the quit Tuscan woods, and planned our Tuscany trip from there.
Vinci was 30 minutes away from our stay, so naturally it was one of our first choices to visit. We were surprised by both the beauty of the scenery and the quality of the museums.
Pisa was a bit trickier as the tourist crowds sometimes take away from the magic of a place, luckily we climbed the city's walls and found a mesmerising and private view from up there.

Lastly we visited Lucca and... you know that feeling when a place makes you check out real estate websites and you contemplate moving there? Well, that was the feeling for me! A city so live and well-maintained, where the history didn't take away from the practical daily life, but rather enriched it. Lucca's medieval walls were a true gem, either walk or bike them if you get a chance to visit.
We loved our Airbnb, so remote but perfect in its simplicity. Our cats loved it too, and we would have wanted to explore those woods for weeks and months, so leaving was bittersweet.
