At the age of 13, she inked her first recording deal with Motown Records, although she chose not to proceed due to the significant commitment it entailed. Her early career took a different direction as she delved into choreography, working as an assistant choreographer on the music video for New Kids on the Block's hit "Step by Step." Additionally, she contributed her vocals as a background singer for artists like Christopher Williams and the R&B trio The Good Girls.

Ewanya "Puff" Johnson's breakthrough in the music industry arrived with her soulful and emotive singles "Forever More" and "Over and Over." These tracks garnered considerable commercial success in Europe and Australia, providing her with a solid fan base and recognition on the international stage. Both songs were featured on her sole album "Miracle," released in 1996.
