4. “Ballroom Dance” Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald Deleted Scene

Leta and Theseus are attending a formal event, and there are murmurs amongst the crowd that Leta’s brother is alive. “The rumors are true,” one says. “Her brother is alive,” says another. One man recites the prophecy. Leta watches a dancer make white objects — visually similar to the Obscurial — swirl through the air. One falls slowly in the air, recalling a visual similar to the above opening in which a cloak falls through the water. You might remember that this visual again appears in the final cut of the movie when Leta is doing her info dump. Their interactions and exchanging of smiles have that poignant sweetness and it adds a layer to Theseus' character from simply being an Auror with a strict code. It is what Leta needed at that moment, especially since the ball included a boggart about her baby brother.
