Happy Holidays, losers! (っ^‿^)っ

Haha, kidding, I won’t be mean today. It’s Christmas Eve! And this is a time to be happy! Even if you don’t celebrate, the wintery season is kind of magical you know? Except for when it snows a lot and you have to shovel it, but that’s besides the point. It’s just nice and shiny, or maybe even desolate and lonely; either way it’s an interesting atmosphere that I personally enjoy and draw a lot of inspiration from.

For this years holiday special, I wanted to A) do something Kirby because Kirby games have a LOT of really cool snow levels and themes, and B) make something with that funky, sort of retro style bass you hear in many older dance tunes. Like, think 80’s pop or something—I don’t know why, it’s really just a cool sound to me and I wanted to see what it would cause me to do. And what it made me do indeed, was, well… I’m not sure? I suppose in a way this remix reminds me of my Pokemon League in approach, which uses a similar bass and percussion pattern, but honestly I just did whatever and didn’t keep a certain genre map in my head. Maybe if someone gets it they’ll let me know, yo.

Oh an fun fact, I actually only learned about the source for this one because indeed I was looking for a winter-y song to remix--I had no idea Aurora Area existed before then, but gosh darn is it a fantastic song. It's too bad it's not more well known.

That’s about all I wanted to say about the remix. What I also decided to do, which I’m sure you’ve noticed by now if you’ve read this far, is redesign my channel mascot! And along with it, the titlecard at the beginning of each video, etc.! This is kind of a big deal really, as I’ve had that other design in various forms all the way back since the beginning, but… man, it's time for a change, you know? Hopefully it looks alright, as even though I tried my best I wouldn’t consider myself an artist, lol. So long, old-titlecard-and-design, you’ve served me well—let’s get on with the new stuff! Heck yeah!
