Endgame difficulty scaling has made an appearance in Borderlands 2 with OP Levels, Wonderlands with Chaos Levels, and Borderlands 3 with Mayhem Mode. Each of these iterations has aimed to tackle the same goal, providing a progression system beyond the level cap to offer a more difficult experience. Yet, each has gone about that in an incredibly different manner. Of course, that comes with each system having positives and negatives. This video aims to discuss why I believe BL3's Mayhem Mode has done it the best so far and what could be taken from that system to make it perfect for Borderlands 4.
