Pakistan, in collaboration with China, is selling the jointly developed JF-17 Thunder fighter jet and is reportedly dreaming of forming a so-called "Islamic NATO" with countries like Saudi Arabia and Turkey. However, no official announcement has been made regarding any such defense alliance. Meanwhile, India has carefully prepared its response to this entire strategy. On January 19, 2026, the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, arrived in New Delhi for a short visit and met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During this brief but crucial meeting, India and the UAE reached agreements on several important issues, including defense, technology, space, energy, and investment. The two countries signed a Letter of Intent regarding a "strategic defense partnership." It was also decided that bilateral trade between India and the UAE would be increased to $200 billion by 2032. This figure also highlights India's strong economic position compared to Pakistan's weak economic condition, as Pakistan's foreign exchange reserves were only around $21 billion by December 2025.

पाकिस्तान पर लंबे समय से आतंकवाद को बढ़ावा देने के आरोप लगते रहे हैं और अब वह इसे अपनी विदेश नीति का हिस्सा बनाते हुए ‘फाइटर जेट डिप्लोमेसी’ के जरिए नई रणनीति आजमा रहा है. पाकिस्तान चीन के साथ मिलकर बनाए गए जेएफ-17 थंडर लड़ाकू विमान को बेचकर सऊदी अरब और तुर्की जैसे देशों के साथ मिलकर तथाकथित ‘इस्लामिक NATO’ बनाने का सपना देख रहा है. हालांकि, इस तरह के किसी भी रक्षा गठबंधन को लेकर अभी तक कोई आधिकारिक घोषणा नहीं हुई है. इसी बीच भारत ने बहुत सोच-समझकर इस पूरी रणनीति का जवाब देने की तैयारी कर ली है. 19 जनवरी 2026 को संयुक्त अरब अमीरात (UAE) के राष्ट्रपति शेख मोहम्मद बिन जायद अल नाहयान कुछ घंटों की यात्रा पर नई दिल्ली पहुंचे और प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी से मुलाकात की. इस छोटी लेकिन बेहद अहम मुलाकात में भारत और UAE के बीच रक्षा, तकनीक, अंतरिक्ष, ऊर्जा और निवेश जैसे कई अहम मुद्दों पर सहमति बनी. दोनों देशों ने ‘रणनीतिक रक्षा साझेदारी’ को लेकर लेटर ऑफ इंटेंट पर हस्ताक्षर किए. साथ ही यह भी तय हुआ कि साल 2032 तक भारत-UAE के बीच द्विपक्षीय व्यापार को बढ़ाकर 200 अरब डॉलर तक पहुंचाया जाएगा. यह आंकड़ा पाकिस्तान की कमजोर आर्थिक हालत के मुकाबले भारत की मजबूत स्थिति को भी दिखाता है, क्योंकि पाकिस्तान का विदेशी मुद्रा भंडार दिसंबर 2025 तक सिर्फ 21 अरब डॉलर के आसपास था.
