Saturday 15th February 2025 - Dancing in the street: Dozens perform Strip The Willow
Ceilidh dancing brought a section of one of Glasgow's busiest pedestrian streets to a standstill on Saturday.
About 100 people joined Highland dancers and pipers from The National Piping Centre.
The dance floor was a newly revamped area on Sauchiehall Street.
The event was part of celebrations to mark 850 years of the city.
Strip the Willow was the perfect dance for the street, with Sauchiehall meaning 'willow meadow' reflecting its past as a moorland lined with willow trees. Over time, of course, its become a hub for clubs and music venues.
