DK's O Gauge Trains - Lionel's UP "City of Denver" F3 ABBA with matching aluminum Passenger Cars

Описание: This video highlights Lionel's Union Pacific's famous "City of Denver" passenger train travelling round trip from Chicago, IL to Denver, CO from 1936 to the beginning of Amtrak in 1971. While my consist may not accurately depict the actual train, I think it looks good rolling down the rails.

In 2005, Lionel released an ABBA set of F3's in Union Pacific livery. The same catalog featured the matching passenger cars Lionel christened the "City of Denver".

The ABA set was Lionel number 6-24552. The Lionel numbers for the individual locomotives are 6 - 24553 (F3A), 24554 (F3B), 24555 (F3A) and 24556 (F3B add on). There are (2) powered and (2) unpowered units. The set runs and looks pretty good for 17-year-old diesel locomotives.

The passenger cars are Lionel numbers 6 - 25433 (4 pack), 6 - 25438 (2 pack) and the Diner 6 - 25441. There is a total of (7) cars offered in the 2005 catalog. They are the highly sought after all aluminum 18" cars with fully detailed interiors and seated passengers. Finally, I added a MTH UP "mail car" to the train for some additional visual interest. The MTH number is 20 - 93053.

Also featured in this video are my Lionel UP SD40T-2's and a SD40-2 (Desert Storm) hauling a long string of "Pigs" to market (future video). Finally, my Atlas Rio Grande GP7's on the lower level with a train of "High Cubes" (previous video).
