A Plasser & Theurer 09-3X Tamping Express (aka Stopfexpress) owned by "Track Australia" (now Rhomberg Rail Australia) is seen operating on the standard gauge line at Kilmore East, Victoria.
The Plasser 09-3X is a heavy duty, high speed, continuous action track tamping machine. The tamping units are mounted on a separate, self-propelled, satellite frame and are capable of tamping three sleepers at a time.
Kibri make a HO scale kit of this track machine, I'll now be able to detail mine correctly based on the 09-3X seen in this movie. Or maybe I'll take the plunge and buy the working model recently released in HO scale by Viessmann :-) .
