As a seasoned Enrolled Agent with more than two decades of experience, Derek has guided countless individuals, businesses, and nonprofits through the U.S. tax system. His work is rooted in something deeper, though: a lifelong devotion to taking care of one another.

That commitment was born from profound loss. In 1980, his home burned down, and he lost his 8-month-old son to the fire. Their community gathered around to support him family, and the outpouring of care from strangers and loved ones alike is what allowed them to continue. From this, he learned that real healing from trauma happens when neighbors help neighbors. This sentiment has fueled his life’s work, and now inspires the way he run Esoterax.

Derek believes that care is our greatest currency. It is what connects, powers, and heals us. And he have seen repeatedly that when we give to others, a space is created that the Universe fills abundantly.
