On October 4, 1939, Aviation Corp. announced that it would build a $1 million factory adjacent to the Nashville airport and employ one thousand workers under its Stinson division. When the Nashville plant opened, the price tag was upwards of $9 million and the factory employed over seven thousand workers instead of the Stinson division, it was part of the Vultee division.
