How to Apply the Combat Application Tourniquet (C-A-T)

How to apply the CAT:

1. Position it around the affected limb, approximately 2-3cm above the wound.
2. Feed the strap through the single routing buckle, ensuring effective slack removal.
3. Pull the strap tightly and securely fasten it back on itself using the Velcro.
4. Twist the windlass rod until bleeding stops and the distal pulse is no longer palpable.
5. Lock the windlass rod in place with the windlass clip to maintain pressure.
6. Write the time the tourniquet was applied on the time slip.
