Guhagar is a census town in Ratnagiri district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Guhagar is known for its virgin beach, coir items, coconuts, betel nuts and mainly Alphonso mangoes. The nearest city and railhead is Chiplun, about 44 kilometres (27 mi) away. The economy of Guhagar boomed after the Dabhol Power Company, a few kilometres north was commissioned in the early 1990s. Hotels sprung up and residents were given well-paid jobs.

How to reach Guhagar by Air

In case you want to travel to Guhagar by flight, the nearest airport that can be accessed is the ChatrapatiShivaji International Airport, Mumbai. The airport is well connected via several national and international airlines.

How to reach Guhagar by Rail

There is no direct connector when it comes to rail route since Guhagar does not have a station. Chiplun railway station on the Konkan railway region is connected to Mumbai and Goa. From Chiplun railway station to Guhagar is just 45 km.

How to reach Guhagar by Road

If you are driving from Pune to Guhagar, you have the option to choose from four different routes. The shortest route would be via Bhor. However, considering the road condition, the route via KumbharliGhat would be the best route to opt for. The best route from Kolhapur to Guhagar would be via Chandoli - AmbaGhat - Karnjari - Pali - Hathkumbe - NivliPhata - Chiplun – Guhagar. Many Maharashtra Government public buses transport between Guhagar and Chiplun and many cities nearby. Tourist Volvo buses regularly ply between Mumbai, Pune and Guhagar.
