The search for survivors in waters off Korea's southwestern coast continues, and joining us now is Michelle Park for a look at the conditions down near Jindo, where the ferry went down. Michelle how are the conditions in the area right now?
It's still a bit foggy at the moment, and the sky is starting to clear up by the rain.
The velocity of the tidal currents is estimated at between 1.8 and 10 kilometers per hour.
There are three times of the day when slow tides will be coming in, which would help search and rescue efforts.
One of the times already passed, at 10:20 this morning, but there are two more coming, one at 4:29 this afternoon and the other at 10:25 p.m. local time.
The water temperature is currently 13 degrees, which is a bit warmer than yesterday with winds blowing at 4-point-8 meters per second and the height of waves at zero-point-6 meters.
We'll continue to monitor the situation down near Jindo and hope for the best.
