Bello Oriente is literally the highest neighorhood in Medellin Colombia. It was originally an invasion or properties that were illegally obtained by squatting. Due to the conflict and voilence in the whole of Colombia. Country folks abandoned their homes to seek refuge in big cities like Medellin. And because of the extreme poverty they faced, they and their children were victims of gang voilence and many times no other options than to join the gangs. This made areas like this some of the most dangerous places in the city. And if you ask any of your local friends here, they would tell you to not go up to these kind of places, especially alone.
