A quiet market town in Northumberland, where centuries of history once moved through its streets. Market stalls opened each morning, the abbey bells echoed across the town, and travellers passed through on their way across the north.
My name is Ray Mains.
For years now I’ve been walking through the remains of the world we left behind, recording what still stands… in case someone finds these places again.
Then the days passed without us.

In this reconstruction, Hexham is seen decades after humanity’s disappearance. The streets remain, the abbey still watches over the town, and the River Tyne flows quietly past a place that no longer answers.
This is one entry in my record of what’s left.
Some places fade slowly.
Others simply fall silent.
