Today we take an in depth look at one truly incredible plant. Stapelia gigantea aka the carrion flower, Zulu Giant and numerous other names regardless its seriously incredible!
When this plant flowers it really puts on a show but can you stomach being near it to enjoy it? The carrion flower has earned its moniker due to the absolute putrid smell of rotting flesh it emits when in bloom. This malodorous plant uses this chemical to attract its pollinator and in this case, Flies.
It's gorgeous but gross!
