After closing the deal in mid April on a public land long beard. We continued our turkey season by trying to fill another tag. The theme of this turkey season has been “hit or miss”. Whether that’s us messing hunts up, toms not responding to calls, or just not being able to find turkeys on public land. We continue to hit old properties that had turkeys on them and bounce around from public to public looking for birds. After striking out on old properties we hit a streak of good luck and find a group of turkeys on a new piece of public land. But, like most pieces of Nebraska public land, its small and the turkeys don’t spend a lot of time actually on public. But with a lack of other options and no where else to go. We give this group of turkeys a shot!
