Punjab Police Gurdaspur Encounter Under Question? High Court Summons DGP | Ranjit Singh Case
Questions are now being raised on the encounter of 19-year-old Ranjit Singh, who was killed in the murder of an ASI and a Home Guard jawan in Gurdaspur.
The Punjab and Haryana High Court has taken suo moto notice of the case and directly summoned DGP Gaurav Yadav.
According to advocate Tanu Bedi, 34 encounters have taken place in Punjab from November 2025 to January 2026 and the story of many is being told in the same way.
The police have talked about forming an SIT, but the High Court has sought a full report in two weeks. The next hearing of this case will be on March 17.
On the other hand, Ranjit Singh’s mother Sukhjinder Kaur has called this encounter a fake encounter and demanded a CBI investigation, which is to be heard tomorrow.
