DIY: How to make a spiral fit-and-flare skirt, Part 1. Making a pattern for a spiral skirt.

Описание: Today we are going to talk about a spiral fit-and-flare skirt.
You can start the flare wherever you want. You don’t have to make a 20-cm flare, like I do.
Draw the 1st line from the right to the left. Move each line 3 cm further. Make a beautiful round line.
We’ll cut it out and use it as a model for the next gores.
We use the basic pattern to design the skirt. Do not forget to sign the center front.
We need to draw all the gores circle-wise, then we’ll transfer the pattern on a skirt, and add the flare on the fabric.
We’ve decided not to show how I cut out all the 8 gores – it would take too long.
I'll explain everything to you. I want you to understand that we can’t make any mistakes when designing such skirt.
You’ll see that the last gore of the front side goes to the back, as well as the last gore of the back goes to the front.
When we make a pattern, we’ll need to design the flare. We’ll work with each gore to make the skirt fit-and-flare.

Such skirts look very good on the big sizes – it can hide some parts you don’t want to show.
