At Senate estimates this week, Senator David Shoebridge continued his pursuit of transparency regarding basic religious charities – such as Hillsong – that enjoy tax exemptions and exemptions from financial reporting and governance standards.
Officials from the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) told Senator Shoebridge that it could compel basic religious charities to provide information.
