In this video, we follow an elderly Yakut nomad woman through one of the most brutal survival days recorded in the Siberian tundra. When a violent snowstorm locks her inside and buries her shelter, she must rebuild her fire from dying embers, melt frozen snow for drinking water, thaw and cook frozen fish, and fight to keep her reindeer alive — all alone, in temperatures that can kill in minutes.
