How to ride rein back with Kirstin Kelly. Teaching rein back can be challenging as we spend most of our time teaching them to move forward. Starting by asking on the ground is the best advice so that when you ask he can easily move his feet backward. Sounds easy but often horses drag their feet instead of lifting them in diagonal pairs like they are meant to. Rein back is required in some dressage tests but they are helpful when moving your horse around gates etc so it is handy to teach the horse well before you need to do it in a dressage test.
