The suspect, Govindaraju from KP Agrahara police station, was nabbed in the act at Chamarajpet's City Armed Reserve ground. He allegedly demanded the money from builder Mohammed Akbar, who faced charges alongside two others in the case, promising to remove Akbar's name from it in exchange for Rs 5 lakh total. A Lokayukta spokesperson noted Govindaraju had offered to help quash Akbar's role for the payoff.
