This session marks the beginning of our intensive training by exploring the hardware and software foundations of modern AI. Alberto Bocchinfuso from NCC Italy provides a comprehensive introduction to GPU architectures and the essential protocols for accessing High-Performance Computing (HPC) infrastructure. Following the architectural overview, Ashwin Mohanan and Yonglei Wang from NCC Sweden guide viewers through the transition of basic Deep Learning tasks from CPU-based environments to high-performance GPU systems, ensuring a solid baseline for accelerated computing.
