A dish sander is typically used by luthiers to radius sand the edges of the sides of guitars, ukuleles and other stringed instruments. Often times it is done manually but I made one simply that is motorized, saving time and labor.
And BTW, I know those corners look pretty wicked when the dish is spinning, but that is mostly a camera trick and the dish is not spinning as fast as it appears to be spinning. Nevertheless, a round dish is being made because the present one is part of my go-bar deck, and making another one for the sander means that I won't have to take apart the go-bar deck everytime I need to radius sand.
