An ancient temple in Egypt has revealed a stunning discovery of over 2,000 mummified ram heads, along with other animal remains such as dogs, wild goats, cows, deer, and even an ostrich. These mummified remains were believed to be offerings made to honor Egypt's most powerful pharaoh, Ramses II, more than 1,000 years after his death. The archaeological site, located at the King Ramses II Temple of Abydos, also uncovered a grandiose Old Kingdom structure with walls approximately five meters thick, which contained statues, tree remains, leather shoes, clothing, and papyri. This remarkable find sheds new light on the ancient landscape of Abydos before the temple's construction and spans over 1,000 years from the Sixth Dynasty to the Heroic Age, some of which date back more than 4,300 years.
