Tactile refers to the sense of touch. A lot of children have tactile defensiveness where they don't enjoy touching certain objects or certain textures. Sometimes children have difficulty wearing a shirt with tags, or walking barefoot on the grass, touching glue or shaving cream.
Tactile defensiveness can make daily activities stressful for both parents and kids. But the good news is that parents can seek help from an occupational therapist.
