[SW] 12110 kHz - Iran International, Kostinbrod - vs 2 to 3 Iranian Jammers, Mar 4 2026

Описание: This is a typical reception of Iran International TV audio on 12110 kHz shortwave here in NE Poland, as it struggles with intense jamming in Iran's wide-ranging war, whose objectives reach much further than just countering the US-Israeli invasion.

At the beginning of the video, there are two jammers seen at different offsets, causing additional heterodynes and occasional Iran International audio distortion when either of them overpowers the target signal. One AM transmitter simply runs a 1-kHz tone. Were it alone, it wouldn't cause that much menace unless - again - it overpowers the (un)wanted signal. And on an SDR with the right software, it is possible to notch it out.

The other jammer is much worse - it's a loud, wideband Bubble Jammer. Somewhere in the midst of the recording, I do try to clean up Iran International audio with AM Co-Channel Canceller built-in to SDR#. It did work quite well, although not without harming the wanted audio.

Around 14:32 UTC, a 3rd jammer joins in, close in exact frequency to the Bubble Jammer. I assume it's a Bubble Jammer too but with such type of a jammer, two or more of them just blend in the ears easily.

Iran International resumed shortwave operations on February 28th, 2026, in a prompt response to the attack on Iran by US and Israeli forces. It seems its broadcast schedule needs to take time to settle, but the frequency the station appeared first on, 9500 kHz, was used on the 1st day only. Instead, at various times, 12110, 17900 and 5885 kHz are used - sometimes 2 at once. Occasional frequency shifts are also possible, especially concerning 12110.
