Residents of Arunachal Pradesh’s capital protested at the Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) following two recent deaths—a newborn and a mother—allegedly due to medical negligence.
Families staged a dharna inside the hospital, demanding immediate action against the responsible doctors and nurses and refusing to take the bodies until justice is served. Relatives emphasized they seek accountability, not compensation.
Health Minister Biyuram Wahge expressed support for the families and confirmed a thorough inquiry is ongoing, with legal actions possible if negligence is proven.
