High school was a rough time for me as a deaf person. There was always a lack of accessibility for me as there wasn't really a IEP or 504, at least not to my knowledge then. If there was one thing I needed that I didn't get, it was closed captions during films when we had to take notes on them. Unfortunately, the need for captions and not getting them was used against me in US History class in 10th grade when a teacher made fun of me for incomplete notes, and he did so in front of the class.
