This story is a part of "Tales of Ativesen". The world of Ativesen has two primary languages. One, Common, is the language spoken by all peoples everywhere, across all continents. You will recognize it as English. The other is Old Ativesen, a language older than the world itself. While it is not commonly spoken anymore, relics of it still linger in the modern day vernacular. Here are some of the words used in this roleplays and thein meanings, both within the language and the world of Ativesen. Foraløx - Old Ativesen name originating from the words 'Foral', meaning Last and 'Løx', meaning Night. It is an annual holiday celebrated by humans on the last night of every year. Families from every kingdom make a pilgrimage to the residence of the oldest member of the family tree. There is much celebration and laughter and reminiscing and reconnecting, which is then followed by the ceremony of the Mnema Wreath. After the wreath is burned, the bonfire begins to emit a personal aura skyward, similar to our Northern Lights, where it is joined by the aura from every bonfire of every family in every kingdom across the entire continent. For fifteen glorious minutes every year, the entire human race is connected, with complete and utter disregard for any boundaries.

Mnema/mneman - Old Ativesen words meaning 'Memory' and 'Memories', respectively. Mnema is also the name of the Creator Deity who created the humans and gave them paper and quills for writing. Mneman, in the context of the holiday of Foraløx, are little slips of paper upon which are written the best and worst memories of the past year. The slips are then attached to a wreath and at exactly midnight are burned with much fanfare on a large bonfire.

Solaní - Old Ativesen name originating from the words "Sol", meaning Sun and "Laní", meaning Rise. The Solani Kingdom covers a large portion of the Eastern coast of Teranem. The Domasol family have ruled it since its founding and have cultivated such a perfect image of themselves that some of their subjects actually believe that they are the ones who set the sun in the sky every morning, no matter what their school books say.

Domasol - Old Ativesen name originating from the words "Domasa", meaning Master and "Sol", meaning Sun.
