I believe in the K to 12 program. Its something we've needed to do for some time to reach the
regional benchmark of the minimum number years of basic education to prepare our youth
for employment and or for higher education. It's definitely good for our young people. At the
same time when we talk about what we need to do to improve our education systems
specially our public education system which used to be the pride of the Philippines. K to 12 is
not enough. It's essential but there are other education reforms that have to be implemented
alongside that. To make the K to 12 projected gains realizable and also to profit from the role
out of the K to 12. Education reforms like improving teachers salaries and benefits, continuing
teachers' education, the walang kamatayang issue of education infrastructures: schools,
classrooms, yung pagwawasto ng ating mga libro at pagiging sapat ng student-book ratio
diyan, mother language education, uhmmmm integrating the alternative learning systems
into our overall public educational systems. So marami tayong kailangang gawin at
kailangan nating gawin yan. Also to impact on the economic future of our youth.
