Concert Rehearsal in Petrikirche, St Petersburg

Описание: Rehearsal concert in St. Peter and Paul Church (#Petrikirche) which is located at Nevsky Prospect, 22-24 in St Petersburg. I was happy to see this rehearsal when I had excursion to Petrikirche and to its former #swimming_pool area which is not so well known even by the locals. Whether you wish to visit it I am ready to accompany you. Petrikirche also shows the dialogue between German and Russian cultures.

#Petrikirche was founded in 1833 as the largest #Lutheran church of St Petersburg and the whole Russian Empire. The first project belonged to Alexander #Brullo, the outstanding Russian architect. At the end of the 19th century it was another famous architect Maximilian #Messmacher who restored the building.
This Lutheran church is also well known in St Petersburg for being rebuilt for the swimming pool during the times of the Soviet Union. Since 1993 divine services have been conducted there. Traces of the swimming pool are still partly preserved in the shape of the interior, and still during the excursions visitors can see the swimming pool "cup" which is under the floor of the main hall where the divine services and music concerts are being held nowadays. During #excursions sometimes we are also lucky to see rehearsals of future concerts.

Petrikirche building is home to Evangelical Lutheran community of St. Anne and St. Peter. In 2017 the community celebrated its 317th anniversary.
