Today we're going to be reviewing part number GT-1007. This is the document holder with a cap from Redline Trailer Cargo Control. This is going to be a great item to have installed in your trailer to keep important documents such as registration papers, licensing, or other miscellaneous items close at hand. The lens here is going to be constructed of a UV-resistant polycarbonate. It's going to reduce the risk of shattering. It also has a nice raised handle.

That way you can easily get a grip on it and gain access to your documents. You can see here that it has these notches that go all the way around the document holder here at the housing. All you got to do is twist the cap a small turn, lift it up, and then it's going to expose whatever it is that you have installed in this area here. It's got a nice spring that's located on the inside. It simply slips over your document and it's going to hold your items in place.

It also allows you to easily remove the documents. The housing is going to be made from a strong, durable plastic construction. It's going to have a translucent cover with a synthetic gasket. The gasket is going to be designed to protect your documents. It's going to keep any moisture from being able to gain access to the inside of the housing so your documents are going to be fully protected from the elements. Another neat feature is that it has this cable that attaches the lid to the housing at all times.

that way you never have to worry about misplacing the lid or losing it. The mounting screws are included. You're going to get two mounting screws. There's going to be two mounting locations, one located on this side, one located on this side. If we take a measurement of the distance between the two mount locations center on center, that's going to give us a measurement of 5-1/2". The overall width from the mounting hole side outside edge to outside edge is going to give us a measurement of 5-15/16".

Now this is a little bit elongated. It's not a perfect circle. If we measure from edge to edge going this direction it's going to give us a measurement of 5-3/16". If we take a measurement of the inside diameter of the holder that's going to give us a measurement of 3-3/4", and then if we take a measurement of the overall depth, which is simply just the amount of space that is going to stick out from the surface that we have it mounted to, that's going to give us a measurement of right at 2-1/4" measuring from this point here out to the outermost point of the handle.
