Welcome to Healing the Hungry Ghost! 🪷 I’m Summer, a trauma therapist exploring the roots of stress, disconnection, and emotional suffering — and what it truly means to heal.
I'm very excited to launch this first episode of my series on the impacts of different types of stress and trauma! 🎉 We tend to treat stress like it’s always bad—something to avoid. Even so, most of us live with near constant high stress. We spend as much energy resisting stress as dealing with it. This series aims to challenge the narrative on stress: what if understanding and working with stress—rather than fighting it—leads to deeper well‑being?
In this kickoff episode, we clear up a major misconception: the difference between stress and anxiety. They feel similar but come from different roots and require different approaches. In this episode you'll learn:
