Treatment Vlog: My experience with Potenza

Over the course of the past 9 months I have had 5 Potenza treatments from Cynosure.



Potenza is the world’s first radiofrequency microneedling machine that combines monopolar and bipolar radiofrequency at 1 or 2MHz in a single device, creating four unique RF modes. Using a patented tiger tip it simultaneously releases radiofrequency energy at two depths within the dermis to stimulate fibroblast activity.



With 4 radiofrequency modes, 10 different needle configurations and customisable energy settings, you can fine tune treatments based on your specific needs – all skin types, anywhere on the body, any time of year. (Treatment areas – full face, forehead, crow’s feet, upper cheek, lower eyes, lower cheek, nose, upper and lower lip, chin, jawline, neck, decolletage, elbows, abdomen and more.) I did my face and neck.



Once you’ve had the recommended course, top-ups are recommended once a year, although I will probably have at least two, being older (I’m 55).



What are the results?

I found the immediate effects were a more taught, tighter skin, with an obvious residual glow.

The downtime is surprisingly minimal. You will have pinprick bleeding during the treatment that literally stops when the machine is finished. You are visibly red and slightly puffy for a few hours, but for something that can be quite invasive, the downtime is genuinely remarkably quick.

You do not need this treatment if you are young. If, however, you are 30-35+ and have signs of ageing that concern you, namely fine lines, sagging etc, I highly recommend.
