Disney CUTS Dividend

Описание: Hey Dividend Chasers!

Reports in say Disney has suspended its dividend to preserve cash due to the health crisis. Sighting keeping its MOAT of cash going even thought they are sat on over 10bn and have a credit line for 15bn while the sustainability of the company is important I believed it has the cash to come through easily without suspending the dividend, which is why I bought in only a few days ago sighting that Disney + would also help carry them through.

However morningstar reported that the suspension could also be due to feeling uncomfortable about paying out over 1bn in dividends to shareholders/investors whole having 120,000 employee is furloughed or taking voluntary leave. This is a shrewd PR move which will sit well with a lot of people including me. The company should be in a stronger place going forward when them parks re open.

Disney revenue actually grew in the quarter to 20bn aided by strong growth in Disney + up 18%. Which has already powered its way to 50 million subscribers (wish I had that many) far quicker than one of its main rivials Netflix ... however Netflix does now have 180 million subscribers so still some catching up to do. If they manage to get anywhere near that theyll be crushing Netflix that way while taking their premiere films and characters away from them, plus netflix does not have toy stores or theme parks or release to cinema.

Still keeping my Disney shares and if this suspension creates a buying opportunity I will consider more. I'm Holding/buying
